Michael holds Master of Science and a PhD in molecular biology from University of Aarhus. Michael has worked with IP counselling since 2006. Before entering the IP field, he worked as a scientist/senior scientist in the biotech industry for about a decade in the field of target discovery and validation. Michael is the co-inventor of a combinatorial library screening technology.
Michael has a solid scientific knowledge with a wide range of technical disciplines, including recombinant protein expression, vector technology, combinatorial libraries, gene transfer, retrovirology, assay development, compound screening and flow cytometry.
Michael’s technical experience is within the fields of biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, epigenetics and cell biology. Michael has considerable experience in drafting and prosecuting patent application, particular in the field of diagnostics, medical uses in general, immunotherapy, biologics, and stem cell applications. Michael is also experienced in drafting opinions on patentability, freedom-to-operate analyses, and advice clients in the strategic use of IP. In a previous position, Michael was the key account manager on life science for one of Scandinavia’s largest research institutions. Michael joined Zacco in 2012 and rejoined after a short period working at Novozymes in 2015.
Michael is also ranked as a recommended individual by IAM Patent 1000 for 2018 and 2019.
