Maria advises clients on strategic patenting issues and deals with all matters relating to patenting such as searches, drafting and prosecution of patent applications, appeals, oppositions, infringement analysis and freedom to operate investigations. She has considerable experience from oral proceedings in opposition and appeal cases. Her fields of technical expertise include chemistry, applied chemistry, consumer products, hygiene products, pulp and paper, process technology, chemical engineering and mechanics.
Maria graduated in 1988 from Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, with a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. She is a Swedish Authorized IP Attorney and has been a European Patent Attorney since 2005. Before joining Zacco in 2002, Maria worked as a development engineer at Chalmers Industriteknik AB from 1989 to 1990, as an Examiner at the Swedish Patent and Registration Office from 1990 to 2001, and as a Patent Attorney at Stockholms Patentbyrå Zacco during 2001-2002.
Maria is a member of the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (EPI) and the Association of IP Professionals in Swedish Industry (SIPF).
